Field Report
Czechia is a landlocked country in the heart of Europe, about the size of the state of South Carolina, and its capital Prague is one of the oldest and most beautiful cities on the continent. For centuries it was part of larger empires, and today it is a quiet, modern nation full of forests, castles, and kind people who are largely living their lives without ever hearing the real message of Jesus. That makes it one of the most important places in the world for Christians to pray for.

European Roe Deer

With bold yellow spots on jet-black skin, the fire salamander lives in the damp forests of Bohemia and Moravia and was once believed by villagers to be born from flames.

These crispy potato pancakes are seasoned with garlic and marjoram, fried until golden, and eaten as a simple, satisfying everyday meal.
Czechia sits right in the middle of Europe and has no coastline — every direction you travel from Prague, you will reach another country before you reach the sea.

Czechia has more castles and castle ruins per square mile than almost any other country in the world, with over two thousand of them scattered across the landscape.
The city of Prague survived both World War I and World War II without being heavily bombed, which is why its medieval old town still looks much the same as it did six hundred years ago.
Czechia is one of the least religious countries in the entire world — surveys consistently find that more than half of Czech people say they do not believe in any god at all.
