Field Report
Maldives is a tiny island nation sitting in the middle of the Indian Ocean, southwest of India and Sri Lanka, made up of hundreds of low, flat coral islands ringed by some of the clearest blue water on the planet. Nearly everyone who lives there is Maldivian Muslim, and very few people have ever had a chance to hear about Jesus. It is one of the least-reached places on Earth, which means your prayers for Maldives matter more than you might think.

Maldives is made up of about 1,200 small coral islands grouped into 26 ring-shaped atolls scattered across the Indian Ocean, and only about 200 of those islands have people living on them.
Maldives is the flattest country on Earth, with no natural point on any island rising higher than about eight feet above sea level.
The official language of Maldives is Dhivehi, which is written in its own unique script called Thaana that reads from right to left.
Maldives has a population of fewer than 600,000 people, making it one of the smallest countries in Asia by population.
Every island in Maldives is surrounded by a coral reef, and those reefs are home to more than 2,000 species of fish — more variety than almost anywhere else in the Indian Ocean.
